Osas Ighodaro Celebrates 10 Years in the Nollywood Industry

Nollywood actor Osas Ighodaro ( Osarieme Martha Elizabeth Ighodaro) celebrated her ten years in the Nollywood Industry on 27th August 2022. She marked the celebration with a dance video titled “WATA WATA CELEBRATING 10 YEARS.”

Osas noted that she embarked on the journey to Nigeria ten years ago. A six – months initially planned trip that has changed her life drastically.

In the video, the actress danced to a mix of “Wata no get enemy” – Fela Kuti“Wata” – Julsbaby (feat Randy Valentine)“Water” – Beyonce feat Pharrell Williams and Salatia. Djobiajent produced the mix.

“For me, the element of water encapsulates a beautiful representation of my time in Nigeria thus far; my flow, my fight, and my freedom!!!.

I was meant to stay in Nigeria for just six months..and here I am ten years later. I’m forever grateful for my journey this far, and I look forward to what’s to come. God’s plan is always the best, and I’m thankful to celebrate this, she said.”

The actress further said, “Big Big Big Thanks to everyone that took time to be a part of synch, a special and fun shoot. With only one shoot and rehearsal, I’m so grateful for the magic we were able to create. You all rock so much, and I am forever grateful.

The Nollywood actress originated from Edo State but was born in New York City, United States. She moved to Nigeria in 2012, intending to return to the States after six months, but various acting roles have kept her hooked in this country.

Osas Ighodaro co-hosted the 2014 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Award. In 2010, she founded the Joyful Joy Foundation to raise funds and awareness for the fight against malaria. From 2013-2015, she hosted the Maltina Dance Hall. She won the best actress in 2022 in a drama in the AMVCA for her role in the movie Rattle Snake: The Ahanna Story.
