
Mosunmola Abudu, popularly known as Mo Abudu, turns 58 on September 11, 2022. Mo is a force to be reckoned with when you mention Media Moguls in Nigeria. Forbes has once described her as “Africa’s Most Successful Woman.” The Hollywood Reporter has also rated her as one of the “25 Most Powerful Women in Global Television.”
Mo Abudu is the founder of Ebony Life Tv and Films. She has served as a producer under Ebony Life Films for Drama series such as Castle and Castle, Desperate Housewives Africa, and the Governor. She has gone ahead to serve as a producer in one of Nollywood Highest Grossing Films, “The Wedding Party.”
Mo has produced or co-produced the following movies: Fifty, The Wedding Party 2, The Royal Hibiscus Hotel, Your Excellency, Chief Daddy, Chief Daddy 2, Oloture, Love and War, and other Tv series and films.
EbonyLife signed a deal with Netflix in 2020 to produce two original series and multiple other films. One such series is the film adaptation of Wole Soyinka’s ‘Death and the Kings Horseman’ currently being premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival 2022. The thriller ‘Blood Sisters also shook Nollywood this 2022.
Mo has recently made her debut as a Writer and Director in the movies- Her Perfect Life and Iyawo Mi (My Wife) though they are yet to be out.
In a post she made on Instagram, she thanked God for age 58. She posted a picture of herself and her grandsons celebrating her birthday. Friends and Well-wishers didn’t waste time celebrating her.
