The King’s Horseman: Casts React to Director’s Death and last Movie

Two Nollywood actors have expressed their thoughts on the death of Nollywood director Biyi Bandele and last movie, The King’s Horseman, which will premiere on Netflix in September.

While speaking in an interview, Jide Kosoko, a character in the movie, said, “I remember that throughout the time I was on that set, Bandele never got angry over anything. That is not to say people did not annoy him, but he was such a gentleman.”

“His approach to things was fantastic. I certainly did not see his death coming. He was himself throughout the production. He even had a good stamina. His death came as a big shock.” He further described The King’s Horseman as a proper send-off for Bandele.

Sharing his thoughts on the soon-to-premiere movie, Kosoko said, It will make people weep more because they will get to know that a great talent has been lost. We still need him but no one can control death.”

Corroborating Kosoko’s comments, another character in the coming movie, Omowunmi Dada expressed, “He did not show any signs of being unhealthy. He was always on set at the call time till work was wrapped up for the day.”

Dada added that Biyi Bandele was professional and respectfully got his point across on set.
