The organizers of Big Brother Naija have announced the reality show’s seventh season. The show will launch on July 23 and 24. It will also run for 72 days.

Organizers of the show unveiled it at a media briefing during the week. At the briefing, the Executive Head, Content and West Africa Channels at MultiChoice Nigeria, Dr Busola Tejumola, said the company received 40,000 audition entries for the season.

Tejumola said the show would feature live shows and ninjas, which were a part of the show before the pandemic.

However, a major twist to the show this year is that the housemates will undergo a psychological evaluation before going into the house.

Speaking on the prize, she stated that the show’s winner would get a 50 million Naira cash prize as opposed to the 30 million Naira cash prize for the last season. She also added that they would get 50 million Naira worth of prizes from sponsors. This will make a total of 100 million Naira.

A cash prize of 1 million Naira will also go to 30 fans of the show each in the ‘Fave Lock-In’ promo. The promo is exclusive to Gotv and DStv customers.

On voting for housemates, the Multichoice executives said the show would maintain its voting style from last year and not through text message as it was in past seasons. Instead, fans will vote only on the Big Brother Naija website, the mobile site, and the MyDStv and MyGotv apps.
