American Rapper Rakim Mayers, known as A$AP Rocky has been charged with assault after allegedly pointing a gun at his former friend last year November 6 during an argument in Hollywood.
Mr Ephron, also known as A$AP Relli, a former friend of the rap star, identified himself as the victim and sued A$AP Rocky earlier this month, alleging assault and battery, negligence and emotional distress.
The charges of two counts of assault with a semi-automatic firearm in a public place, was announced by Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón.
The Attorney stated the following;
“Discharging a gun in a public place is a serious offense that could have ended with tragic consequences not only for the person targeted but also for innocent bystanders visiting Hollywood.”
The rapper who was previously arrested at Los Angeles International Airport after arriving from Barbados with Rihanna on April 20, and later released after posting a $550,000 bond, is set to be arraigned on Wednesday, 17 August.
Relli, according to Rolling Stone claims he was shot twice and was left with minor injuries on his left hand, and that the entire incident was captured by nearby surveillance cameras.
